Design and Operations of Seru Manufacturing: Case Study

چکیده
A new manufacturing system, Seru Manufacturing Systems(SMS), has been widely applied in Japanese electronic industry. Through comparing with other three similar manufacturing systems, the organizational characeristics of SMS were discussed from three levels based on case studies, i.e., manufacturing system, manufacturing strategy, and industry application. The results show that SMS can satisfy more strategic challenges than others in the turbulent environment based on different organizational characterics, i.e., autonomous and distributed control, reconfigurable process, integrated information, and human-centered management. On the other hand, there are some limitations of SMS in industrial applications.
